It's been already three or four weeks as one of my friends after our conversation over the compaign against Uzbek governments pressure on journalist in London led by Craig Murray, he bought two copy of MURDER IN SAMARKAND, which was advertised on Craig Murray's weblog. My friend said he is not going to be in London on the time this book will be published and he gave me the pre-paid receipt, so I can collect them, from Waterstones, one copy for him and the other for me. This was his gift instead of a bunch of roses, as he said. That made me happier than roses could do.
Assistent in Waterstones appologized on behalf of the publisher and said that there were some delays and they still did not receave this book. She said she will give me a call when they get it. But my curious and unpatient soul did not let me to sit and wait for her call. Almost one or two times a week I drope into Waterstones and ask if the book was there. But allas...
I hope the book is not being censored or cut down of its politically sensetive parts. I am sure there is no such a freedom of speech in Europe if it relats international politics. Otherwise Craig Murray wouldn't loose his post as an only! outspoken and honest to his human and democratic dutys British Embassador In Uzbekistan, would he?
However, I am still waiting to hear some truth, some real analyses, some real veiws of my city, Samarkand, from first of all a foreigner and then a brave and not materialist politician as Craig Murray. If not I have to get him out for a cup of samarqandi tea as someone who cares about my people as I do...
Such a terrific coincidence! I've given some money to a friend of mine in London to ship over 2 copies of the same book. It's marvellously revealing, since i've read some fragments of it in a paper last month. Happy reading!
